Terms of Use
The rules for using Bozeman Electricians, a free service that connects people in Bozeman, MT and nearby Gallatin Valley towns with independent electrical contractors.
This website is owned and operated by Joe McGregor. Last updated November 6, 2026.
What this service is
Bozeman Electricians is a free quote-referral service, not an electrician or electrical contractor. It holds no Montana electrical license and does not perform electrical work.
Bozeman Electricians is a referral service. It passes your request, or connects your call, to independent electrical contractors that serve your area. It is not an electrician or electrical contractor, holds no Montana electrical license, and does not offer to perform electrical work. It does not plan, supervise or warranty any electrical work. The word "Electricians" is part of the site's name, not a title or a description of work the site does.
Free, with no obligation
Requesting quotes is free, and you are never obligated to hire any contractor who contacts you. Contractors may pay Bozeman Electricians for each request or call they receive. The site does not rank or endorse contractors, and contractors reply on their own schedules. No response time is promised.
The contractors are independent
Contractors who contact you are independent businesses, not employees or agents of Bozeman Electricians. Any agreement for work is between you and the contractor you choose. Each contractor is responsible for its own Montana license, insurance, permits, prices, workmanship and warranties. The site does not verify licenses, insurance or work and cannot promise that any contractor is licensed or insured. Before you hire:
- Montana requires electricians and electrical contractors to be licensed by the State Electrical Board (MCA Title 37, ch. 68). Look up any contractor or electrician by name or license number in the Montana DLI license lookup, and ask to see the license; electricians must carry it on the job.
- Ask for a certificate of liability insurance. The State Electrical Board requires licensed contractors to carry workers' compensation and unemployment insurance coverage (or hold an exemption); it does not set a liability insurance amount.
- Get a written, itemized quote that says who pulls the permit, and don't pay in full upfront.
- For many in-home sales, Montana gives buyers until midnight of the third business day after signing to cancel in writing (MCA 30-14-504). Whether it applies depends on the sale.
Information on this site
Guides, prices and answers on this site are general information. They are not professional electrical, legal or insurance advice. Prices are published third-party ranges, not quotes. Laws, codes, permit fees and utility rules change; confirm anything important with the Montana Department of Labor & Industry, your city building division, NorthWestern Energy, a Montana attorney or your insurance agent. Never attempt electrical work you are not qualified and permitted to do, and never work on a meter base, service mast or the utility side of the meter.
Consent to contact
By sending the form, you agree that Bozeman Electricians and the contractors that receive your request may contact you by phone, text or email about it, including by automated means where the law allows. Consent is not a condition of buying anything. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to texts or ask a caller to stop at any time. See the privacy policy.
Acceptable use
Please submit only real requests for property you own, rent or manage, with accurate contact details. Do not submit someone else's information without permission, send spam, try to disrupt the site or its form, or copy the site's content for commercial use.
Limitation of liability
The site is provided as is. To the fullest extent the law allows, Bozeman Electricians and its owner are not liable for the work, prices, advice, conduct, licensing or insurance of any contractor you contact through the site, or for any loss that results from using the site or relying on its information. Your remedies for a contractor's work are with that contractor. For licensing complaints, contact the Montana Department of Labor & Industry; for money disputes, the Montana Office of Consumer Protection or small-claims court.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Montana.

These terms may be updated, and the date at the top will change when they are. Using the site after a change means you accept the updated terms. Questions? Use the quote form and say it is about the terms, or read about this service.
